2.15 pm – 3.15 pm Pilvi Porkola; How To Be A Performance Artist? –a performative lecture
What does it mean to create a performance? How to deal with realities and the performance tradition? Should I have a dead animal and where do I get it? Who will fetch the kid from the daycare? And who actually knows what art is? How To Be A Performance Artist is one way of answering many questions the making of the performance raises. It creates a space for an artistic talk focusing on the basics of performativity, everyday life and art.
Pilvi Porkola (1972), a performance artist, researcher and writer who is currently writing her PhD at the Theatre Academy of Finland. Porkola is a member of the Reality Research Centre and a chief editor of the perfomance magazine ESITYS
3.15 pm - 4.15 pm Johanna Väisänen; Artist’s Talk
Johanna Väisänen presents her works which she aims to target for viewing the man-made environment and history through the subconscious. Her ways of working are those of a media artist: video, sound, installation and photography. She is also discussing her artist identity distinctive of which is to function as a media artist based on another educational background.
Johanna Väisänen is an artist residing in Kuopio. In 2007, she carried out a sound installation Words -Axes after whose stroke the wood rings for the ANTI Festival.

4.45 pm – 5.45 pm Hanna Pajala-Assefa; Artist’s Talk
Hanna Pajala-Assefa’s work is most importantly motivated by the body itself. Her themes she gets from the many levels of humanity - life. Also visual art and music are sources of inspiration for her. According to Pajala-Assefa, contemporary dance is a means of communication through which difficult existential questions and primitive sensations can be dealt with. She is currently working on a work for the ANTI Festival 2008.
Hanna Pajala-Assefa has worked as a choreographer and dancer as well as a producer. She is one of the founding members of MAD Production and works as its choreographer.
5.45 pm – 6. 45 pm Davida Hewlett; Artist's Talk (UK)
Davida Hewlett has collaborated with artists, musicians, and local people, creating original and unique pop songs, videos, and performances for over a decade. She likes to make things from the items she finds around her and she has made many songs in response to the towns she has visited along the way. Teaming up with some of Finland’s finest musicians, Davida extends her playful and conceptual approach to embrace the town of Kuopio, creating a special song for the ANTI Festival 2008.
